behind :

Wow. My last blog was 23 days ago! I apologize! Here's the good news; I finally moved into my new apartment in Chicago. I have a full address... where I can receive all kinds of mail. Really!

Here's what is planned for this week: complete "trashcard" album covers for mix tapes that accompany the greetings from Chicago series. Have no fear; those covers will be scanned and posted before hitting the US Post.

i blog, but i try not to lie :

I was very sad in believing that I would be writing about the retirement of marketing and advertising guru Lee Clow this evening. He is the Chief Creative Officer at Apple’s ad agency TBWA (also the creator of the Energizer Bunny and the Taco Bell Chihuahua), and it was said today that he had stepped down from his post. Apparently, this is not true. Just an exaggeration created by the internet. In response to the hoopla, Gizmodo released this note supposedly written by Lee himself:

Hey Everyone:

So we tried to promote Duncan Milner because of the great job he's been doing leading the Media Arts Lab and look at how the blogosphere decided to make it a conversation about me.

As you all know, I'm here every day meddling in everything that goes on, pushing the creative on many brands including keeping an eye on Apple.

I remain Chairman of MAL, Global Creative Director of Media Arts and Chief Creative Officer of TBWA Worldwide.

I'm not going anywhere.

Love, Lee

As a loyal Mac user/lover/shameless viral promoter, a new Mac vs. PC commercial always knows how to brighten my day, so I decided to attach the link with someone else's Top 10 Apple Commercials anyways. It feels good to look back!

[Oh, and good work Duncan Milner!]

a handy skill set :

It's wonderful to see such a delicate process from beginning to end.

i guess everyone can't speak symbol :

I didn't expect to run into anyone in the post office when I arrived there at 7:10 on Thursday. [The PO locks its doors at 8:00] There were only two cars in the parking lot; I assumed they belonged to staff. You know what assuming means...

When I walked inside, there was a very confused looking woman standing next to the blue bin just inside the door. I was only a few steps in the door when she demanded of me, "Is this for trash? It says 'paper only.' I've been putting mail in here."

"I think it's for recycling, but paper only," I replied as I opened and closed my empty P.O. box. She stood there in silence, staring down at the bin. As I walked past to exit, she exclaimed, "This is a terrible place to put this!"

"Yeah, it's not a very safe way to get rid of your mail..." then I glanced at her face. "OH. You've been putting outgoing mail in there?"

"Yes! Where is it supposed to go?"

"Do you see the black slots on the wall behind you with the pick up times listed?" I tried not to laugh as I gestured.

She turned around with a shocked, disbelieving smile on her face, "I wonder how many people have done this!"

I had no response.
